If you issue staff ID, visitor passes or membership cards in small batches, printing them in-house means a new card is ready whenever someone needs one. The Magicard Pronto100 is an entry-level, single-sided ID card printer built for exactly that. It prints a full-colour photo ID card onto a blank white CR80 PVC card in 18 seconds, sits on a desk and connects over USB or Ethernet. Offices, schools, clubs and membership organisations use it to produce simple, professional ID cards at their own desk.

Photo-quality ID cards from blank PVC

The Pronto100 prints at 300 dpi with edge-to-edge coverage, so the design runs right to the edge of the card with no white border. Staff photos, logos, names and barcodes all come out sharp enough to read and check at a glance. You load blank white CR80 PVC cards, design the card on your computer and print it straight away.

In high-speed mode, it completes a full-colour card in 18 seconds, so a full hopper of 50 cards takes about 15 minutes. If you want sharper photos, HD mode takes 23 seconds per card. Simple single-colour cards, such as a monochrome membership card, take just 4.7 seconds each.

Batch printing and card options

You can load up to 50 blank cards and leave the printer to work through a batch. For a lost card or a single new starter, you can hand-feed one card instead. The printer takes CR80 and CR79 cards between 0.51mm and 1.02mm thick, including self-adhesive cards and HoloPatch cards.

The Pronto100 prints on one side of the card and has no encoding options, but it can print onto pre-encoded cards. If you need dual-sided cards or cards encoded as they’re printed, the Magicard 300 ID Card Printer offers both.

Card security: HoloKote® watermark and Digital Shredding

HoloKote®: The Pronto100 can add a HoloKote® security watermark across the card surface at no additional cost, which gives each card a visible anti-fraud feature. You choose from three standard designs in the printer driver, and the printer applies the watermark during the normal print run. For a higher level of visible security, you can print onto HoloPatch® cards.

Digital Shredding: Once a print job is complete, the printer renders the image data it received unreadable. Personal data from each card doesn’t stay stored on the printer, so it helps your organisation meet its UK GDPR obligations.

Clix remote management, consumables and warranty

Clix is Magicard’s remote user interface, built into the Pronto100. It covers printer set-up, maintenance, diagnostics and operation, and lets you keep track of supplies. If you manage printers across several desks or sites, you can check each printer’s status without walking to it.

Ribbons: For full-colour cards, the Pronto100 takes the Magicard MD100YMCKO Ribbon, which is good for 100 cards. For single-colour printing, it takes Magicard MA1000K resin ribbons, which print 1,000 cards each. We recommend always using approved Magicard consumables to preserve the life of your machine and avoid voiding the warranty.

Warranty: Magicard designs and manufactures the Pronto100 at its headquarters in Weymouth, UK. The 3-year MagiCover Limited Warranty covers poor workmanship, manufacturing defects and component failure. It also covers the printhead for up to 50,000 cards or 250,000 ribbon panels. An optional one-year extension is available.
