The Primacy 2 makes card printing simple. It's one of Evolis's high-quality card printers, built to grow with your organisation rather than needing to be replaced when your requirements change. The Simplex (single-sided) model can be almost endlessly upgraded with double-sided, encoding, a 200-card feeder, or an LCD screen, all optional field upgrades at a later date. Print Quality and Speed

It prints up to 280 full-colour ID cards per hour at 300 dpi, with 300 x 600 dpi available for sharper colour and monochrome detail, and up to 1200 dpi in monochrome-only mode for especially fine text and barcodes. Evolis's colour profile technology keeps results close to true colour, so photos and logos print consistently across every card and badge you produce. The standard 100-card input and output hoppers handle regular batches comfortably, with a 200-card feeder available as an upgrade once volume grows. And the ribbon-saving mode for monochrome printing only uses as much ribbon as each image needs, doubling or tripling how many cards you get from a single ribbon.

Security Features

Kineclipse® digital erasing removes ribbon data after each job, so information from a previous print run can't be recovered from spent consumables, and an optional physical lock secures the printer itself against tampering or theft. A YMCKOO ribbon adds a double overlay layer for cards that need extra durability and resistance to fraud, without needing a separate lamination module.

Encoding and Connectivity

Encoding options cover magnetic stripe, contact smart card (ISO 7816), and contactless technologies including MIFARE, DESFire, and iCLASS, useful for access control cards as well as standard ID cards, with a SpringCard encoder available for organisations that need that specific integration. It connects over USB and Ethernet, runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and includes a CardPresso XXS software licence, so there's a working design tool from the moment it's set up.
