Built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology, allowing the use of smart devices
IP67 rated for external use in all conditions
Compatible with Paxton10 controllers only
The Paxton10 Vandal Resistant Reader is the perfect choice for locations where the reader is subject to heavy usage and potential damage. With a market-leading IK10 impact rating, waterproofing to IP67, and a rugged metal surround with four security fixings, this reader is built to withstand the most challenging environments.
Equipped with multi-format reading technology, the Paxton10 Vandal Resistant reader is designed to simultaneously read various types of cards and tokens, including Paxton, EM, MIFARE® DESFIRE® CSN, HID® Prox 125kHz, FeliCa, and NFC.
During installation, the colour-coded reader wires can be easily connected to a Paxton10 Door or Video controller. It's important to avoid mounting the reader on metal surfaces or near other proximity readers to prevent any impact on the read range. The centrally located cable exit at the back of the reader ensures precise drilling and mounting. The reader comes with 5 meters of cable and can be extended using Belden 8723 cable.
In operation, a token is read by holding it in close proximity to the reader. Once the token is read, the control unit checks the access permissions of the user and grants or denies access accordingly.
Additionally, the reader supports three Bluetooth® operating modes for use with smart credentials: token, touch-to-enter, and long range.
